Lightning Deals All Day

      All day at Amazon they are doing Lightning Deals. Does this mean you have to check in every 15 minutes? No they actually start putting them out well in advance so all you have to do is check in a couple of times a day to look for what you already want for someone, note the time, and come back at that time as some lightning deals last quite a while, others sell out in 15 minutes. These are good deals on popular items in every department so take some time to peak in, it may make your Christmas a little less expensive which is always good.

New Free Books Worth Reading

Although two of them went up to just .99 I still had three books fall of my free and worth reading list. Replacements have been found. First off is a well written historical paranormal book from Lynn Voedisch called The God's Wife with excellent reviews and a nice look at historical Egypt. More cookbooks for the list. From Gooseberry Patch we have  Slow Cooking Cookbook (Classic Cookbooklets) with some very easy to make recipes. So I went looking through the 23 Free Cookbooks again and found one that looks especially good.  Aprovecho: A Mexican-American Border Cookbook (Hippocrene Cookbook Library) from Theresa Cordero-Cordell has a number of well tested recipes plus some bonus stories on the history of border cooking. If you don't want to clutter your Kindle this is one well worth getting. 

     With Kindles now as low as $79.00 please remember to get one for the reader in your family.

4 for 3 Sale at Amazon

     Why they are hiding this sale is beyond me. Right now they are having a 4 for 3 sale in their kithen and housewares department. That means buy three items and get a 4th item of the same or lesser value than the lowest priced one free. The key to taking advantage of these types of sales is to make sure all your items are of similiar value especially items 3 and 4. Here is an example of some good ideas for you 4th item: Notice that all these items have some value at their current price and are already on sale. This is a double bonus for your budget, and much better than a $10.00 off coupon if you were already buying that many items anyway. Also kitchen gadgets make nice gifts because almost everyone likes to play in the kitchen on occasion. They are also unisex gifts good for men or women. If you have people on your list who live out of town now is when to buy. If you are worried about it arriving early, just use delay ship and let it ship around the 10th of December. As a person who worked in the catalog/on-line sales industry customer service department please do get the gift message, its free and easy. Silly Christmas Songs

      Another way to spend you $2.00 mp3 code STUDYBRK is with those silly Christmas songs you secretly enjoy but would never actually spend real money acquiring. A number of those songs are now 69 cents. First comes the classic from Cheech & Chong Santa Claus And His Old Lady a wonderful little six minute rambler that will leave you in stitches. Rednecks are really good at doing silly songs and 3 are now 69 cents. Start with Jeff Foxworthy and his Redneck 12 Days Of Christmas  and his buddy Bill Engvall and his Here's Your Sign Christmas and follow up the Cledus T Judd and his Christ-Mas and you are now ready for any redneck Christmas gathering. What would any group of silly Christmas songs be without the Three Stooges classic All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth. The last of the 69 cent silly songs is from rocker Emily Osment  Run, Rudolph, Run set to the tune of an old Chuck Berry classic it rolls right along with the rest of the bunch. If you willing to go all the way up to 89 cents you can't go wrong with the Dr. Elmo classic  Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer which is still my all time favorite Christmas song. So have a little fun at Christmas with these humorous Christmas Carols.

23 Free Cookbooks for Kindle

There are currently 23 free cookbooks on Kindle, all from Hippocrene Books. You know how big a sucker I am for cookbooks, so this is just too cool.


A number of these are repeats from June of this year, but they generally sell for above $10 when not on special promotion. If you are new to Kindle, be sure to grab these now, as they probably won't stay free until Christmas. If a new Kindle and account are being given to someone for Christmas, I'd consider setting up an account for them, just to grab the books or tipping them off to get these ("to read on their PC"). None are lendable.

       I know what you're thinking, he is unemployed, why does he need tools? Because since he is unemployed he now has time to fix all those little things around the house that need it. Also tools are easy to pawn, and you know how tight things get on half to two-thirds of what you were making.
